The Millennium Nucleus for the Study of Labor Market Mismatch, Causes and Consequences (LM2C2) invites economists and sociologists to submit their research, articles, or papers on topics related to the labor market, mismatches, causes, and economic and social implications.

Selected papers will be presented at the Workshop: Causes and Consequences of Labor Market Mismatch, to be held on December 9-10, 2024, in Santiago, Chile.

1. Foster the exchange of ideas and knowledge among researchers from diverse disciplines.

2. Provide a platform for presenting and discussing innovative and relevant research.

3. Generate proposals and solutions to address current labor market challenges.

Papers using new data and methodology are particularly welcome. For your contribution to be considered, please submit your abstract (up to 1000 words + references, figures, and tables) at https://www.lm2c2.cl/conferencias/. Abstracts must be submitted by August 30th, 2024 (11:59 pm EST). Authors will be informed about the scientific committee’s decision by September 22, 2024. There is no registration fee.

Special Guests

The workshop “Causes and Consequences of Labor Market Mismatch” will feature academics Kate Weisshaar and Koji Chavez as special guests. They have focused, among other topics, on hiring discrimination and labor market dynamics throughout their distinguished careers.

Submission Guidelines

  • Submissions should prioritize the use of new data and methodologies.
  •  Only papers including an abstract will be considered, with a minimum length of 300 words and a maximum of 1000 words, excluding references, figures, and tables.
  •  Registration fee: No registration fee

  • Deadline for abstract submission: September 20, 2024 (23:59 h EST).
  • Notification of acceptance: October 5, 2024.
  • Conference date: December 9-10, 2024, Santiago, Chile.
