• El centro de estudios Núcleo Milenio para el Estudio de Desajustes del Mercado Laboral (LM²C²),  invita a todos los estudiantes de tercero y cuarto medio a participar en la Escuela de Verano 2025, una oportunidad única para acercarse al mundo universitario y explorar temas clave en economía y ciencias sociales, a través de un programa intensivo que se llevará a cabo desde el 6 al 10 de enero de 2025 en el campus San Joaquín de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.

Thursday, November 7, 2024. Following the success of its inaugural session in January 2024 at Andrés Bello University, which brought together 30 students from Santiago and the Ñuble Region, the Millennium Nucleus is once again offering a high-caliber educational experience. Participants will engage in lectures and hands-on workshops led by esteemed academics from Pontificia Universidad Católica, Universidad de Chile, and Andrés Bello University. Topics will include “Thinking Like an Economist,” “Market Failures and State Policies,” and “The Challenge of Progress,” among others. These sessions provide students with a deeper understanding of the economic and social challenges that the region faces while allowing them to interact directly with experts in the field.

The Summer School offers significant benefits for selected participants, including full scholarships that cover transportation, meals, study materials, access to university facilities, and personalized tutoring. This initiative is designed to attract talented and motivated students with strong academic performance and a keen interest in broadening their horizons.

To apply, candidates must demonstrate exceptional academic achievement in the most recent semester, submit recommendation letters from their Mathematics and Science teachers (or be nominated by their school), and write a personal statement detailing their motivations and how this experience will support their academic and professional aspirations. Applications close on December 5, 2024, and selected students will be notified by December 15.
